Why I’m Running

The citizens of the 18th District deserve the best possible team representing them in the state legislature.

We already have two excellent representatives in Senator Ann Rivers and Representative Liz Pike.

I’m a working man….not a professional politician. Here are my priorities. We must create jobs, reduce taxes, and ensure wasteful projects such as the Columbia River Crossing are dead and buried. We then must determine what the legitimate transportation needs are and how best to meet them.

I have a proven track record of serving our nation and working tough issues. I want to bring that experience to bear serving you.

More than a decade of military service taught me the value of teamwork, uniting diverse people to achieve a common goal under the most difficult conditions. I understand the challenges facing military members within our state, and I will always be an advocate for those risking their lives to protect our freedom.

More than a quarter-century as a Delta pilot gives me a unique perspective on transportation issues.  I have a personal connection to Boeing (our state’s largest private employer), and a deep appreciation for the importance of governmental, corporate, and individual fiscal responsibility. The airline industry has had its share of ups and downs over the past two decades. Those hardships reinforced the principals my father and family taught me from an early age: spend wisely, live within your means, and save for the future. Those rules work for you and me. They’ll work for our state government as well.

You deserve a leader whose priorities are the same as yours and who will work with our legislative delegation as a united team to ensure your voice is heard and acted upon.

When I was working hard to stop the CRC, two of our representatives worked hand in hand with me and other concerned citizens to stop this unwanted, wasteful, light rail tolling project. However, one representative was nowhere to be seen. You deserve better. You deserve a team player who will work hard to serve you.
